Every Sunday afternoon there is a Health and Fitness Challenge ion the Boardwalk in Asbury Park. There is a class at 2 PM on a topic and then at 3 PM an exercise session. Check the Brochure for more information. March 14 the topic will be running with Tim McLoone.
First Saturday Asbury Park's Theme will be "Born To Run" in recognition of RunAPalooza. Watch this site for details and more information. If you have not attended any First Saturdays in Asbury Park - check out the one in April..

In 2009 the E Murray Todd Half Marathon was cancelled due to snow and ice on the course. In proof that things always even out this year's weather was just spectacular for the runners and spectators.
With a large field of runners participating the men's overall winner was Craig Segal shown finishing on the left in a time of 1:08:20
For the women it was Ann Forestiere of Livingston in a time of 1:26:39 shown finishing on the right.
Awards were presented at the conclusion of the race to overall and age group winners.
Congratulations to the Monmouth County Park System for another great event and thanks to whoever delivered the weather.

It was a perfect day for runners at the First Annual Belmar Mile Celtic Chase held on Saturday, March 6th. With temperatures breaking near 50 degrees and a cloudless blue sky the runners started on the beach in front of the Fifth Avenue Pavilion and headed south and then back on the beach North toward the Fishing Pier and a short quarter mile on the boardwalk to the finish.
The men's winner shown finishing on the left in a time of 7:17 was James Coomber of Morganville and for the women shown finishing on the right in a time of 8:34 it was Alyssa Keleigh of Neptune City
Runners celebrated at 507 Main after the run in preparation for the Giant Belmar St Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday..
The NYC Marathon set for Nov 7, 2010 has a new earlier deadline for entry into the lottery to get into the NYC Marathon - March 15, 2010. So if interested in doing the marathon this year - better get your entry in now.
Some people have received word that they got into this year's NYC Marathon. Remember the JSRC will again be having several bus loads of runners going to the marathon. Its the best way to get there and return comfortably. If you are already accepted - click here to register for the bus - they fill up fast so its not too early to get on board.

Its a great event to benefit Special Olympics New Jersey .

The Club's Annual Party which was re-scheduled due to the snow storm was another huge success thanks to the efforts of the entire committee led by Jerry Frazee and Rick Valentine. With several hundred in attendance the partying went late into the night. the partiers enjoyed a great buffet, dancing and mingling with all their running friends.
Results of elections for officers were also announced - see photo above. Congratulations to all the newly elected officers and thanks to all who ran for office in 2010.
